How To Make Your Bedroom Feel Like a 5 Star Hotel

  1. When you climb into a hotel bed in a posh hotel, everything feels just right. You may find that the bed is comfier, that the decorations are nicer and you may even feel as though the whole thing just feels like it comes together nicely. Of course, your own bedroom probably won’t feel like this at all and at times it may feel as though no matter how hard you try, you just can’t get everything how you like it. That’s why these tips are designed so you can transform your bedroom into a 5-star sleeping station.

Design Comforting Layers

You need to have a ton of comfortable layers and textures. This is the key to making any room feel super cosy. If you have a lot of mixed materials then this is great, so consider investing in things like down-duvets, PeachSkinSheets and even wool. Things like this are great because they add a lot of warmth. Instead of going for metal handles on your wardrobes, consider having wood. If you need to spruce things up even more then swap out your cheap wardrobe for a solid wood one. This will make the whole room feel way warmer and it will also make it much softer and much more comforting. Of course, when you get out of bed, the last thing that you’ll want is to step onto a cold floor, so think about having underfloor heating installed. If you can’t do this then swap out the laminate flooring you have with carpet. Nobody likes cold feet in the morning!

Be Peaceful with your Palate

If you opt for colours such as lavender or pastel colours then this will really help you to create a tranquil space. You may even find that colours like this are very light and airy as well. If your ceiling is very low then lighter colours are certainly the way to go so that they don’t make the room feel cramped and small. If you want to add some colour then lavender works well with mint green, and if you’d prefer to have the whole thing a bit plainer then you can’t go wrong with cream.

Don’t have Bright Lights

You may have a light that has lots of bulbs and this is great for lighting up a space, but in the bedroom you don’t want this at all. Instead, you should try and go for bulbs that have a very low wattage or lights that have very few bulbs in general. The main reason for this is because you want your bedroom to be soothing and you don’t want it to feel like your living room either. You can even have a dimmer installed so that you can control the lighting at various points of the day. You’d be surprised at what a difference this can make to the feel of a room and it will also help you to cut down on your energy bill as well. If you are trying to make a guest bathroom or bedroom feel more comforting then a brighter light may help here because the room is most likely a lot smaller than the master bedroom and it will need a bit more help with the lighting situation.

Don’t Go Too Traditional

You may think that having your initials on your bath towels is a great idea and it probably is but you don’t want to go too overboard with this. After all, you do want your house to feel like yours and finding the right mix is crucial. You can easily have some towels with your name or your initials on them but make sure that you don’t go too much by having your initials on the soap holder as well.  Remember that your house is still a home and not a hotel, and little accents like this can quickly become too much and they can even take personality away from the space as well.

Open the Curtains

A lot of people get up in the morning and they forget to open their curtains. They go to work, come back and wonder why their room is stuffy and gloomy. If you want to avoid this then the first thing that you should do when you get up in the morning is open up all of your windows and your curtains. This will really help to make the room feel better and it will also give you a fresh and comforting breeze as soon as you walk into the room as well. Nothing can quite compare to that, and it works wonders for your property.
