Getting Back Into Your Workout Groove

It’s super normal to lose motivation. You’re not always going to feel your best. And when you’re tired, or run down, or going through a stressful period, trying to stay on top of your workouts can be really tough. You’ll find that working out can be great for your mind and body, and be exactly what you need. When you aren’t motivated, it’s just not going to happen though. So, when you find yourself feeling like this, you want to make sure that you do something to change that. To shake things up and boost your motivation, here’s what you can do.


Give Broga A Go

First of all, we’re going to kick off with a change of pace. When you’re used to hitting the gym and doing the same kinds of cardio or strength exercises, you may find that you get tired too easily. Trying to motivate yourself to do the same old stuff can be really tough. Instead, you need to think about shaking things up, and Broga can be a great way to do that. Not only is it great for your body in terms of your strength and flexibility, but it can be amazing for your mind too. So, you’ve guessed it, this will be amazing to help you to kickstart your motivation levels.

Join A New Gym

But this won’t help you to get back into a good workout routine. Yes, you could do Broga all week, but if you want to feel motivated to get back to the gym, maybe it’s your gym that’s the problem. So join a new one. Consider what facilities you’re looking for in the best location, and somewhere that offers more than what you’ve currently got. Because maybe your gym isn’t exciting you enough or giving you a full service? And this can put you off from attending.

Get A Trainer

If you have always found it quite hard to keep yourself motivated when it comes to going to the gym, then you should think about getting a trainer. But don’t just do this on a whim. You need to make sure you find the right personal trainer to motivate you and provide you with the workouts you need. When you do, you should find getting your butt to the gym easier.

Get Outside

Maybe the problem is being in the gym itself? Maybe you don’t like the pressure or the environment? When that’s the case, why not think about forgetting it altogether and head outside? Because you can run, walk, hike, and just enjoy the outside environment and get fit this way.

Turn To Sports

At the same time, you could also think about how turning to the sporting world. Because you don’t always have to workout in a gym. And if you love playing sports, then this could be the key to helping you keep on top of your fitness levels and staying motivated.

  1. “Going Out” really works for me. I always feel better when I’m in a park.
    I was thinking to take up tennis since I was never good at it. Maybe I’ll get better at it.

  2. The name Broga made me laugh! That’s an interesting workout. I find that it’s not finding what to do that is the hard part, but making exercise a priority over being able to sit down, relax, and read after a long day. I usually need some kind of accountability partner to keep me going.

    1. My husband is my perfect motivator because he wants to go to the gym just as bad as I do! And yes, some guys think that yoga is too “chickish”, until you get them to try a flow.

  3. I think this is a reminder for me of starting to go back and yes, get into the groove again. Not a huge fan of working out in the gym as well. I prefer to walk and run outdoors instead.

  4. Your chosen gym is so important! My husband totally doesn’t get it haha he’s military and keeps telling me to use the gym on base because it’s free. But it’s just not motivating to me! I’ve been with Planet Fitness for 3 years now so it’s like “home” to me. I just couldn’t switch to a gym that doesn’t motivate me.

  5. I will say that even walking outside every day really helps with motivating me to do other workouts afterwards. I’ll walk for 40 minutes and then do something fun like kickboxing, Pilates, or a different workout. Great tips on getting back into the groove!
