Moving into a new house is an exciting experience. You’ve finally found your dream house, and you may have even found your dream location as well! The problem is that if you don’t pack up efficiently, you may not move into your new home as fast as you’d like and this can cause serious delays for both sides of the sale. If you want to make sure that everything goes smoothly on your big day, then take a look below to get some helpful hints and tips!
Be an Early Bird
Packing ALWAYS takes longer than you think. You need to start packing weeks before your moving day because that is exactly how long it will take you to get everything sorted out. Think about it, when you move to a new house, you are essentially packing up your life and moving it in a VAN! You may not think that you have a lot, but if you were to take a magic wand and delete your house, everything that’s left, you’d have to take with you. It helps to start with the items that you don’t use very often. This can be books or any sentimental items that you have.
It’s important that you mark boxes that you need to move first with a symbol, such as a star. These will help you to know where the important items are, and it is also a great way for you to find out which items you are going to need. This could be clothes, toiletries and even things for work. This is just one of the things you need to plan ahead of time. The last thing you want is to pack too many items in one box because this can cause you serious back pain. If you have a lot of heavy items, try spreading these out across several different boxes. This will help prevent fatigue while loading.

Dedicate One Room to Packing
When packing up your items, it helps to have one room in your house that is used as a packing station. This will help you to avoid having boxes everywhere with no idea where all of your items are. If possible, you should make sure that your packing station is downstairs as well. If this is not viable then try and move your boxes downstairs before your moving company arrives. The main reason for this is because if you are hiring a moving company, it will make it much easier for them to grab the boxes needed without having to run up a flight of stairs. The best moving services will be able to help you pack up as well, by providing you with all of the boxes you need.
So moving into a new house isn’t easy, but by planning ahead of time being organized, you can make it through the whole thing without having to worry!
